Engaging Our Services

Clients are required to sign an Engagement Letter for attorneys and tax professionals who perform legal, accounting, and financial services. These include tax audit and collection representation and resolution before Federal and State taxing authorities, tax return preparation, and tax consulting services.

This letter is a contract that defines the nature of services, fees, terms, and defines mutual responsibilities between the client and service provider.

In order to represent you before the tax agencies, you (and your spouse if married and dealing with joint liability) will additionally need to sign a Power of Attorney granting me authorization to represent you.  This power of attorney is limited to communication with the IRS.

In order to engage my services, please email me or fax (818-845-6031) the following information including your spouse if applicable:

  • Full name as typically shown on official tax documents
  • Home address
  • Phone numbers: daytime, evening, mobile, and fax
  • Social Security Numbers and date(s) of birth
  • relevant tax form(s) (e.g., 1040 for individual, 1120 for corporation, 1041 for trust/fiduciary returns, etc.)
  • the tax years (or tax periods) for which you need my services
  • your private E-mail address for our communications
  • Your preferred way of receiving the Engagement Letter: PDF email attachment, fax, or postal mail

Once prepared, I will E-mail you the Engagement Letter and Power of Attorney if required.

Once you receive the document(s), please review them carefully and contact me if you have any questions. The Power of Attorney must be letter perfect.  Neither the IRS nor state tax agencies accept Powers of Attorney that have crossouts, whiteouts, or any other visible corrections.

Once I receive the signed and dated document(s) along with the applicable deposit or retainer, I can begin working on your case.
